Get Involved
Come as you are; and join us as we learn to live out the words and works of Jesus
At Maple Ridge Vineyard, we want people to find and experience increasing wholeness by enjoying God, worshiping God and experiencing healthy community. One way to foster this is to find your Place of Service. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for all sorts of inclinations, giftings, talents and abilities. It is our prayer that our people will find their passion and a way to express it through serving.
Here are some practical ways to serve (if you can think of more, let us know!)
Coffee Bar Ministry:
You don't have to have graduated from Starbucks School of Espresso to be on our team! You only have to have a willingness to put smiles on people's faces and a warm cup in their hands. We offer training; it's really easy. You can just sign up at the coffee bar. The three times we really need volunteers are Sunday mornings; and Monday and Friday nights. Sunday School Teachers:
As a committed member of Maple Ridge Vineyard church, you can begin volunteering in the Sunday School by helping a Sunday School teacher as their assistant. If, after doing this awhile, you feel like you want to continue, and the Sunday School teacher you've been assisting feels they can recommend you to teach on your own, you can take the lead in teaching. Don't worry, you won't be on your own; you will be supported by another teacher for the first month of teaching. A criminal record check applies. children@mapleridgevineyard.ca
Nursery Volunteers:
Do you love children? Do you enjoy seeing them grow, learn and interact? The nursery may be the perfect place for you! A criminal records check is a requirement for all our volunteers. We also will provide training sessions and encourage all our volunteers to join us. The only other requirements are that you love Jesus and children! And the best part is, you don't even have to change diapers: out of our desire to carefully protect the little ones in our care, our volunteers will ask the parents to change their little one's diaper. nursery@mapleridgevineyard.ca
Worship and Arts Opportunities:
Worship is a privilege and honour. To give glory where glory is due and to praise the God that loves us is what we want to be all about. There are many opportunities to get involved. These include musicianship, singing, dramatic arts (do you want to act a "scene" at The Second Service?). We also need soundboard operators (we train!) and power point operators. If you like working with technology and want to learn how to use the powerpoint program get involved with our powerpoint team to help you gain the skills you need. worship@mapleridgevineyard.ca
The Monthly Potluck:
As part of our community life, we celebrate a monthly potluck lunch together on the last Sunday of every month. This is a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing. And we need many hands helping to make it happen. There are many practical ways to assist in this, from heating up food in the kitchen after the service, to setting up tables and helping people get beverages. Custodian / Service set-up:
Every week our building is used and every week it needs to be cleaned. Every week chairs need to be set up and taken down. Cleaning toilets your thing? Great! Not your thing? How about vacuuming? We have all the supplies needed and the training to turn you into the most efficient cleaner you could ever imagine! custodial@mapleridgevineyard.ca
Small Group Leaders:
As a growing community, we will need to expand our network of Small Groups as we continue to enlarge as a church. If you have a passion to lead worship on a "smaller" scale or to facilitate group discussion, or just to help people connect with each other, this might just be a great way to get involved. Or if you don't want to be "upfront" and lead, you could always open your home to host a Small Group. smallgroups@mapleridgevineyard.ca
Vineyard Vision:
Twice a year, we host Vineyard Vision over the period of several sessions. We take a focused look at our values, vision and beliefs as a part of the Vineyard Community. Leadership Development:
Do you feel God stirring you to lead? Do you feel called to pastor? At Maple Ridge Vineyard, we strongly desire to equip and encourage emerging leaders. Whether offering assistance and guidance to find proper schooling and training, meeting one on one with our leaders, or having group leadership sessions and coaching sessions, we want to recognize and equip emerging leaders from within our own church community. info@mapleridgevineyard.ca
