What We Do

What We're Doing
Weekend Services:
Our basic format: we have a time of worship, usually around a half-hour. Then we have announcements, followed by a coffee break. Our church building used to be a pool hall, so we have a fully functional coffee bar in our space. Our teaching time is another half-hour or so, followed by Ministry Time. This time is an opportunity for people to receive prayer; to offer prayer, and to minister to each other and be ministered to by the Holy Spirit. On the last Sunday of each month, we celebrate the Lord's Supper together and have a community pot-luck lunch together. It is a great time of food, fellowship and reflection on our Lord Jesus Messiah.
Our Saturday Service starts at 18h30. This service is led by Generation Y. There is no Sunday School available at this time; we do have an unsupervised nursery available for babies and toddlers.
Our Sunday service starts at 10h00. It is family friendly, with Sunday School and a Nursery.

All of our children's volunteers have had a criminal record check done. Our Sunday School is offered for children Kindergarten to Grade Seven. It is a time of fun; but is always centered on Jesus: learning of Him and encouraging our young ones to enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We do ask, however, that parents come and get their children as soon as the main service is over so that the volunteers can get back to their families. Thank you.
Nursery:
As part of our ministry to families we offer a safe, loving nursery for infants and toddlers. We want to give Moms and Dads an opportunity to enjoy the sermons, as well as providing a nurturing environment for children. Our nursery is safely outfitted with age appropriate toys, change table and couch for nursing moms. We incorporate prayer, singing, play and stories in our programs. All our volunteers have had a criminal record check and participate in training sessions. The nursery is closed prior to the sermon, (except for diaper changes or nursing) as we like to encourage families to worship together. We ask parents to drop their children off at the nursery after the coffee break and to pick them up once the sermon is over. Please do let the nursery volunteer know if your child has any allergies or special needs. A nursery volunteer will let you know if your child requires a diaper change during the sermon.
Maple Ridge Vineyard Second Service:
Service starts at 18h30 on Saturdays at the Vineyard
At Maple Ridge Vineyard, true worship and expression, equipping and inclusion are very important values for us. So are outreach and growth! 2008 saw amazing growth in our church and a new congregation was planted, quietly and trustingly that God desires it. This service is led by Generation Y.
Home Groups:
Our Home Groups operate on the idea that growing to maturity is impossible without the Holy Spirit working through relationships in the Body of Christ. Real relationship building - with each other and with God - requires smaller gatherings. It is not always possible to interact on a deeper level with people on Sunday morning; and so we believe that Home Groups are a very intentional way to foster healthy community and lasting relationships. Our basic structure is to worship God together, visit with each other and talk about what God is doing in us and through us. For the study portion of our Home Groups, we like to reflect on the past Sunday's sermon, so that we can fully engage the sermon all week.
There are three Home Groups to choose from at this point, one on Wednesday at noon,and two on Thursday evening. We are hoping to grow more soon. Please see our Homepage for more specific information on groups.
Worship Ministry:
The Vineyard is a worshipful church and at Maple Ridge Vineyard, we say AMEN to that! There are plenty of ways to be involved in worship, with or without instrument or voice. See our "Get Involved" section to get involved! |
